Padmashree Dr. D.Y. Patil University is established Under Section 3 of the UGC Act. 1956 in 2002.  Within a short span of  time it has earned a significant position in a field of higher education in India.  Thanks to it’s enlightened management led  by the founder Chancellor Pad. Dr. D.Y. Patil. 

At the helm of affairs of the University is renowned surgeon, Prof. James Thomas known internationally, as a Vice Chancellor. It’s contribution in the sphere of health care is appreciated by one and all. The University has programs leading to PG and Ph D Degree in the field of science and technology and management.  It also provides UG Program in Hospitality and Tourism and teacher education 

Its Academic ambience, innovative programmes and State-of-the art infrastructure has been attracting the students from various States of India and also abroad. The University is on move.  The University is keen on introducing innovative programmes to enable its students to face the emerging challenges of the future and meet the needs of the new resurgent India.
